MAC Lightful SkinCare Review

Let me start by saying the MAC Lightful Skincare line has a Marine bright formula. This formula brightens and evens out skin tones. For my skincare routine I purchased the cleanser, toner and moisturizer.

Moisture Cream $42
I was a little hesitant trying out the Lightful skin care line because in the past I purchased the strobe cream and I just didn't like how it felt on my skin. Since this was a different formula I thought I would give it a try. Well I absolutely love it. I've previously blogged about other skincare lines I've tried and this is by far the best one. Its given me much greater results than the other ones have. So the formula to this one is a charged water, lightweight gel-style cream. It literately melts right into your skin.

The Benefits:
- youthful glow
- Doesn't feel tight on the skin
-Even skin tone
-Prevents skin from flaking

I originally only purchased the cream but after the awesome results I went out and got the cleanser and toner as well. If your unsure go into MAC and try it out on your skin first.

Cleanser $25
Water based foaming cleanser. Works great and removes all my makeup. The fragrance of this line smells so good. If your sensitive to fragrance you might want to test it out on your skin first.

Softening Lotion $32
So this works as the toner. This step is used after the cleanser. Its named softening lotion but the formula is not like your normal lotion its more of a translucent liquid. I apply it on with a cotton pad. What this toner did for me was soften the skin while giving it a radiant feel. It also removes any makeup that you might of missed while cleansing.

After using these 3 products, my skin feels fresh and beautiful. If you are on a budget and don't want to purchase all 3 products, then I would go for the moisture cream. Its a must.  Last but not least the packaging of this line is amaze!

Biore - Free Your Pores

What is it?
Biore pore strips remove blackheads, dirt and clogged pores. It works kind of like a bandaid. What you do is wet your nose, then place the strip on to the nose area and let it dry. Let it dry for about 10 minutes, it will then turn hard and feel like paper-mache. Slowly peel off starting at the edges. Once you peel off the strip and see what is has on it you will probably feel mortified. I don't know if I'm just really weird but seeing all of the awfulness gives me a satisfying feeling. If you've ever gotten Microdermabration and see the amount of gunk they remove from your face. Well this is pretty much the same thing but just on the nose. I purchased this at Shoppers Drug mart, they were on sale for $6 usually they are $11-12.

I've been using Biore pore strips for years now. I think they are great for people like me that love makeup. Makeup can get into your pores and clog them. This product has always worked great for me. I use it once every two weeks or sometimes once a week. You shouldn't use it too often because it can be a bit harsh on the nose if your doing it all the time. After using my biore pore strip I like to clean the area with toner. The toner I'm currently using is by MAC and it works awesome.  I've always hear mixed reviews on these strips. Some people say that after using them their pores were even bigger or their nose got very irritated. So if that happens to you, you should stop using them.

NYX LALA Lip Gloss

NYX- LA-LA Lipgloss

If your looking for drugstore lipgloss, then NYX is definitely my favorite. They are not too sticky and the pigmentation is good. This one is in shade LA-LA LG 158. I got it from my local drugstore - London Drugs. They were having a 25% off all NYX products promotion. PLUS if you spend $10 on nyx products you get a free matte lipgloss. So I ended up picking up a few things, I love all their products so Im always excited to try out new colors etc. I think the London Drugs promotion ended yesterday but be sure to look out for it because they always have great deals. I'll post as soon as I find out about one again. What do you guys think about this color? I personally like it, perfect for an everyday look.

Earls Brunch Tasting

Last weekend I got invited to attend a complimentary Chefs Table tasting at Earls Restaurant. It was pretty much a few different items off their brunch menu as well as beverages. I think their brunch menu is pretty new, I don't remember them having it before. Earls has many locations all over Canada, but the one I went to for this tasting was the North Vancouver location. The management that served us was super friendly and they also had their sous chef come by our table and explain the dishes. This was my first time trying anything off their brunch menu. I usually go for dinner. One of the things I always get when I go in is their Spinach Feta dip. It is amazing!! Now let me explain to you the brunch items I got to try.

Caesar + Mimosa

I got the caesar, it came with a lime, pickle and pepperoni stick as the garnish. My caesar tasted very pickly which I really liked since I love pickles. I didn't try the mimosa but my friend really liked it.

Granola + Yogurt Parfait $9

Flax, oats, dried cranberries, almonds and pecans on plain yogurt. They served it with a side of honey. You're able to add a little or as much as you want.  Of course I added all of it because I like my sweets.

Eggs Benny $13

Ham, hollandaise sauce, eggs, sourdough. Delicious and would order this again!

Chorizo + Mushroom Hash $14

Poached eggs, crispy fried potatoes that were amazing! Kinda greasy but still delish, hollandaise sauce, avocado, chorizo and mushroom. I don't eat meat that often so because of the chorizo this is probably something I wouldn't normally order. If you like chorizo then it's a must try.

They had one more dish for us but me and my friend were way to full to eat any more food. For coming to this tasting they thanked us by baking us fresh muffins. If you haven't tried their brunch menu and want to see what its all about, heres the link to their website. Click Here
